I think the Avalanches broke up after their 2001 CD and we've just been waiting for ghosts....

what's with the complete inactivity? I bet they don;t have a record contract..

sorry, I need proof of their continued existence.

Do you mean the cancelled sxsw date? or the performances under other names by God knows who?

i didn't know about the performances under the "god knows who" name, but they did play at some recent festivals under the name "the avalanches."

The Avalanches are still active and still signed to Modular and various other labels depending on the region. They are working on an album to follow up their debut and its taking a long time. Currently touring a DJ show quite a bit, infamously recieved very poorly at the Jamiroquai dates in Australia, but curiously better recieved at various other festivals and club tours. That's pretty much it. The rest is up to your imagination!
