not sure how many people on the board are fans...

Groove Armada recruit Neneh Cherry to sing on new album

Groove Armada have invited Neneh Cherry to sing on two tracks on their next album.

They describe the follow-up to Goodbye Country Hello Nightclub as "very vocal and quite rock and roll."

The DJ duo hope to get Norman Cook involved in producing the album, which is expected to be released in October.

It also includes collaborations with Sunshine Anderson and Ritchie Havens, as well as samples from tracks by Status Quo and Eddie Grant.

Groove Armada's Andy Cato told Ananova: "It's quite rock and roll, quite guitary - a bit more leather jackets and Saturday night.

"We enjoyed making this album the most. This one has been brief and that's been testament to the fact that we've enjoyed ourselves. Creativity has come more easy.

"There's a number of songs in the running for the first single but it's likely to be between tracks called Madder, But I Feel Good and one of Neneh Cherry's songs called Think Twice."

Richie HAvens did 'Back to My Roots' live with them at Glastonbury (I watched on the TV) and it was truly life affirming... :D :D :D

i think i saw the set you are talking about (on the tv too :)) and even though i am a fan i was impressed how 'organic' the music actually was.

and i was impressed that the tall guy played the trumpet.

it made me dig out 'goodbye country...' again, which sounded a lot better than it did when it was first released.

Groove Armada's set at Glastonbury was definitely one of the highlights for me...Ritchie Havens came on for 'little by little' then back again at the end for 'back to my roots' - a top surprise.

did a great version of 'at the river' too adding their own remix version at the end. all good :)

I was lucky enough to be there, and it was really amazing. Then, to make the experience even better, when I got home and watched all my recorded Glastonbury footage, there was a closeup on me in the crowd for about 3 seconds during that song and then it cut away, and then cut back to me again for about five seconds.
