People,

That giddy feeling when i first heard the Avalanches album just returned recently when i heard the debut album from 'The Go! Team' entitled Thunder, Lightening, Strike. An english band, its released by Shock records here, its a must buy for all Av fans to tide them over till the next album. Not as sample heavy, its got that reto, feel good vibe that'll leave a big grin on your mug!

Go get jolly!

:)

If you like the Go! Team, you might also want to try Architecture in Helsinki, who sound (to me) a bit like a cross between The Go! Team and The Concretes....

Be aware that the album is available as limited Aussie 2005 Tour Pack with additional 6 track cd thru Shock records.
includes 5 unreleased songs and remix of 'Bottle Rocket'.

Did you see The Go! Team at the Corner Hotel rubberneck? That would've been a fabulous place to catch them.

Saw these guys at the Metro in Sydney. They are absolutely fantastic!

They're having a few problems turning a completely sampled album into live performance, but the chick they've got singing/rapping over the top is wicked and really suprised me how much more energy she gave it.

At the moment he's also going through the motions of sorting out the legalities of releasing an album without having the rights to the majority of the samples he's used.

Its a great album though... its like a huge wall of noise that hits you!
2 very enthusiastic thumbs up - a must have.
