Avalanches Top Triple J Industry Poll
The Avalanches’ turn-of-the-century classic Since I Left You has topped a music industry poll of the Hottest Australian Albums of All Time.
Run by triple j, the list is a precursor to triple j’s Hottest 100 Australian Albums Of All Time, which opens for voting on June 26. More than 175 musicians, industry types and triple j presenters took part in the poll, with albums by INXS, AC/DC, You Am I (Hi Fi Way and Hourly Daily), Crowded House, The Triffids, Midnight Oil (Diesel and Dust and 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1) and The Sleepy Jackson rounding out the top 10. No hip-hop acts were represented in the top 40, while Sarah Blasko was the only solo female artist included in the list.
