in the tradition of all good message boards, and a nice way to recommend different music:

what song are you listening to now
- or -
what was the last song you put on (before you left for work etc.)

hityawitdat by lootpack

(i got some lootpack mp3s from an audiogalaxy group - perhaps the avalanches one - if it was, and YOU sent them, then thanks, the album is great!)

hehe, that could very easily have been me... i got a bit madlib obsessive a few months back and the group copped it. glad you liked it! make sure you also check out the quasimoto album. i like the declaime rekkid too, but i seem to be in the minority there.

anyway, on with the thread...

right now: i'm listening to maybe baby by buddy holly!

also in my musicmatch playlist tonite:

pink/elo - don't start me down (thanks 8O !) ;)
zhane - hey mr dj
television personalities - world of pauline lewis
magic crayon - start
the bees - punchbag
n.o.r.e. feat. kelis - consider this
rammelzee vs. k rob - beat bop (going through yet another phase of playing this song to death, but with GOOD REASON)

nothing right now, but in about 5 minutes it'll be a choice between:

rjd2 - dead ringer
cannibal ox - cold vein
edan-primative plus
or

the two tapes i have been taking to uni this last week:

copywrite - the high exhaulted (+ various copywrite collab tracks)
rjd2 - dead ringer (+ various rjd2 produced tracks)

i normally take a handful of tapes...but right now those 2 are more than suffice!!!

The last thing I listened to in the car was System of A Down's album 'Toxicity' which I absolutely love.

At work I listened to the following albums:

Kind of Blue - Miles Davis
Angel Dust - Faith No More
Live at the Big Beat Boutique - Fatboy Slim

the whole of three feet high and rising by de la soul - probably my favourite hip hop album.

interesting that so many (well, two, three?) people have picked up on rjd2 - i spent about two hours trawling nottingham's record shops for a copy last weekend cos amazon had it listed as available, only to find it wasn't out.

i'll definitely pick it up this week, along with the new beth orton.

Saint Etienne - Finisterre lp. I've been listening to it non-stop since snagging it online Sunday night. It's good, more upbeat than the last one, and has a couple of electroclashish (!) tunes that work well.

John Tejada - Daydreams for Cold Weather. Warm and witty slightly old-school electronica. If you like say Plaid or CiM, you'll like this.

I need to get the new Beth Orton too.

Coming in late on this thread but great array so far!
:D

In the car yesterday was Beach Boys Greatest Hits, in the car today was Too Many DJs. Going home - mmmm, finish Too Many DJs and then see what is close to hand.

Currently purring away in the background is Atmosphere - The Women with the Tatooed Hands

I don't know who sent Atmosphere to me back in the good old AG days but that one and Like Today were choice cuts. Thanks if you're out there.

Oops. Atmosphere all done, too slow to finish this - now onto Love Will Freak Us - Dsico.

Next on the play list - This Corrosion by Lambchop. 8)

Anyway, back to the salt mines....
