Kissy Sellout - His remix of "Face" by the Black Ghosts is PHENOM. Also quite liking various Jacknife Lee i have been digging up and the new Guns N Roses track "There Was A Time" is not totally without its merits...

not bad, but... - (that's only mine opinion- maybe i'm fed up with all the downtempo stuff and that's my problem not their:) with every album Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band are getting worse and worse- "A Special Album" was and still remains one of my favourite downtempo records, "Your new best friends" was ok, but "Knives...." didn't catch me up at all.

hope they will make another special album one day :)

p.s. saw them live once- after special album release- they were very playful, flirted with audience all the time and were really great

new mo' horizons album "Sunshine Today" is as sunny as any other this year

also enjoying new Bamboos album "Rawville"- funk at it's best

and Go! Teams "Grip Like a Vice" EP doesn't sound so bad as it seemed at the beggining (but not as great as previous stuf- sadly  )

plus, You can find Supremes "I'm still waiting" remix made by Handsomeboy Technique at his myspace

I stumbled across an interesting blog the other day and have since been listening to a DJ set by Questlove (from the Roots) that i found on the blog.

Its quite interesting and listenable, i'd say its worth the download.

Check it out here:

i'm listening to lots of bright eyes at the minute, especially cassadaga, which i really didn't get at first but am really liking now.
Also, the justice album (obviously) and some old pavement (still great) and the new ryan adams and arcade fire.

There are no one called Ralph Myerz in Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band, it's just a name. There are two guys in the band and 3 when playing live. But the name is just a name. The guys go under their real names, which i can't remember right now, sorry.

Just to clear thing up.

isn't Jack Herren a strain of marijuana that's sold in Amsterdam coffee houses?

OK, updated.

Assorted Neutral Milk Hotel tracks, only 10 years or so after everyone else. Pick from:

    Song Against Sex
Untitled (from In the aeroplane over the sea)
In the Aeroplane over the sea

New Caribou but aside from Niobe, it's not much cop IMHO.

Take Pills from the new Panda Bear album... takes a while to get going, but good when it gets there.

Some cheese, the Shinichi Osawa remix of Might Dub Katz' Magic Carpet Ride is brilliantly brainless...

Quite liking bits of the new Pepe Deluxe album, and the Chemical Brothers album is OK, if a bit forgettable... very good live though.

That's probably it for now...

Simon
