The new albums from Junior Boys, Gui Boratto and The Juan Maclean are floating around the net.

Enjoying the Junior Boys one (its a bit of a grower) but too early too comment on the other two

The new Super Furry Animals album is incredible. I'm about as big a fan boy as they come but I like to think I retain some objectivity and this new album is the shit. Check out Cardiff In The Sun, White Socks/Flip Flops and Pric for a taster

Also very much enjoying the new ones from Phoenix and Röyksopp. The Röyksopp one's more immediate but the Phoenix one is great too after a few listens

And I'm also loving the Blackbelt Andersen album which is overflowing with chilled, space disco vibes à la say Lindstrøm and also the fantastic Cosmic Balearic Beats Volume One compilation on Eskimo recordings

thanks for the nice lindstrom-related suggestions. i picked up the 2cd version of where you go i go too, with prins thomas edits on the second cd. i've started scrounging around for thomas stuff - there's his old podcast mix for resident advisor, and his old 2cd mix which was also called cosmic something?

phoenix album is good stuff. the first minute of that guitar and that voice, and it's just so familiar and comfortable in a good way. old friends, old pair of jeans, whatever metaphor have you.

The new Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas is out and about on the net and it's pretty stellar :)

There's also a mix of Prins' here on the Permanent Vacation website

Some great remixes available here at the moment including the Prins Thomas Diskomiks of the comeback single from Doves and, at long last,, that wonderful Aeroplane remix of Lindstrøm & Solale :)

Agree that the Zumbi track is absolutely what I was hoping for.. can't wait to hear the whole thing.

Thanks, only_sleeping. I'm a sucker for any song that samples a horse whinny :)

So why is that the "zumbi" track, if that's not in the title or (to my ear) lyrics?

The track is called Zumbi and I HIGHLY suggest looking up major lazer / andy milonakis on youtube and watching them record the vocal - i about peed my pants.

Au Revoir Simone - Still Night Still Light

That's an angels singing, most beautiful thing this year.

The Field - Yesterday and Today

Not as good as the debut, but still much better than most of the stuff around.

Annie - Anthonio

I was begining to miss her.

Noisettes - Wild Young Hearts

While waiting for something new from The Gossip,- this will do.

Handsomeboy Technique - Terrestrial Tone Cluster

Opening song (because it is) with Beach Boys is ace,- everything else already heard and boring.

Yppah - They Know What Ghost Know

If only the whole album would be as good as first 3 or 5 songs...

Aeroplane Annie Mac Mini Mix.mp3

The mix with Michael Jackson, Baltimora, Ricchi & Poveri, Boney M and ending with the russian vocal coming from Prague about ice- creams in one hand and orange juice bought from the old lady in the other, cannot be bad.

Recently:

Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca
Outstanding album

Passion Pit - Manners
Perfect summer pop music although I do think I might get tired of it quickly a la MGMT.

Smith & Mudd - Le Suivant
Gorgeous, downtempo balearica

Grizzly Bear - Veckatimist
Getting into this one now after several listens

Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
Had the leak ages ago but now I've got the CD it's getting played again. Sure some of the songs are different to the leaked version too

Hatchback - Colours of the Sun
Perfect summer beach listening
