belated thanks for this, the songs are not my usual cups of tea but the mix is definitely inspiring me for a spring mix.

this mix woz kinda inspired by recent beeb4 week long theme ov southern california from late-60s to mid-70s

i especially enjoyed the doco "from byrds to eagles" chronicling the music industry move from NY to LA. lottsa bands played i like, so although not all trax r strictly ov that time/place, hopefully they keep tha vibe. i also really enjoyed "from ranch to raunch", a history ov the ranch house & live acoustic "in concert" footage ov neil young, joni mitchell, eagles, crosby & nash throught the week. all from all from early-70s

were these tv documentaries on bbc4? they sound interesting.

the 60s/70s era you mention is a big blind spot for me. mixes like yours + those by the avs have been key in getting me to appreciate that time a wee bit more.

a good melody is priority for me most of the time when it comes to pop/rock, and it sure seems like the artists back then knew how to write one. at least a lot better than american rock bands these days. or the "alternative nation" days in the nineties for that matter.
